I returned to Seoul two weeks ago, but my mind is still planted firmly in Massachusetts. That’s why it was a little bit like Christmas morning to pick up my latest batch of film from the lab, which included these photos from the day Mr. Ferry came to Rockport.
We did not eat ice cream, but we did eat homemade donuts and lobster rolls (not at the same time).
But if you should ever find yourself in Rockport, you should absolutely stop here
and get black raspberry with chocolate jimmies on a sugar cone.
As per usual, I was too busy talking to take photos and neglected to photograph any of that food or my guest.
But here is a gallery.
I am always curious how friends will see my hometown through their lens.
Apparently, his lens sees more ocean, less boat.
On our way to Boston, we did a little driving tour of the area and stopped at Halibut Point State Park,
where the sun made a brief appearance. This place is always swoony and never gets old,
no matter how many times I’ve walked through it or trained for marathons in it
or attended weddings at it or skinnydipped in that quarry.
In Cambridge that night, Jess fed us carrot soup and gave us presents from Berlin.
Yeah, it was a pretty great day.
Jimmies. Ha! East coast people talk funny.
(LOVE the boats.)
That’s what they’re called, Megan.
yes—Tara now has jimmies & sprinkles on her cones!
yay! fun times for all. love that image of the state park steph. so much.
Sounds like an absolutely perfect day!
thanks for showing me the good stuff in rockport, it was an excellent day all around. love seeing these shots!
I’ve always wanted to swim in a quarry. This all sounds perfect!
I love this collection of photos but the last one in particular makes me swoon.
These are great, Steph. That table looks so different to me through your lens, and I really like that. Come back. I’ll make more soup.
I am there, Jess.
oh, this is all so good. and that shot of jess’ table is perfect, wonderful. and the quarry. good stuff.
Oh that quarry! And jimmies! And Ferry Day!
Proof that another soul in this world knows what jimmies are… And i love your photographs immensely.
Thank you, Jillbug. I am always happy to find jimmie lovers.
